Tennis- Basic rule and equipments

Basic rules of tennis remain the same. Though the name for the game differs country to country such as royal tennis, real tennis, or lawn tennis etc; basic rules of playing tennis are the same around the world.

Playing tennis is easy and its rule is also easy. One player hits, or serves, the ball from a corner of a marked out area and another one has to repeat the same or we can say that opposite player has to return back the ball by hitting. When a player is not able to return the ball at all or with more than one bounce, thus the score is made.

Equipment used in playing tennis

1) Court - A 78 feet long court and a three foot (0.9 meter) net are needed dividing it equally from the center. The floor of the court is prepared with artificial grass, concrete, asphalt, clay, grass, wood or synthetic materials.
2) Tennis Rackets – Usually, tennis is played with 32 inches long and 11 1/2 inches in width racket.
3) Tennis Balls- For official tournaments yellow or white balls are used.

Penalties

In the game of tennis, there are certain penalties that results in loss of the points. Below are some of the aspects for that penalties have set:

• Catching the ball with racket or carrying the ball.
• Touching opponent’s posts, ground, the net or any other person or official in the game
• Throwing the racket.
• Hitting the ball two times or before it has crossed the net.
• If the ball hits or touches anything carried by the player (except racket).
